UNIVERSITY SHENANIGANS: CHECKLIST

Tuesday, August 29, 2017

It's that time of year where everyone is jetting off to university soon and packing couldn't be any more hectic if you're moving away from home.
It can be a pretty daunting experience if it's your first time moving away and living independently, for yourself and your parent/guardian/carer; but the first thing you think of when moving out is WHAT DO YOU TAKE? The answer is obvious, everything.
I'm here to solve that problem for you. I'm an extremely organised person (I can admit that I have obsessive-compulsive-disorder: OCD) and I like to make sure moving out runs smoothly. As a student, you want to make sure you take what you need from home and be prepared as buying your necessities by yourself can be expensive (it all adds up, trust me)!!
This list excludes clothing as you take what you please, it's self explanatory!

  • Bath towels x2
  • Hand towels x2 (if you don't like using your bath towel to dry your hands)
  • Hot water bottle (crucial for you ladies!!)

A few affordable shops where you can buy these things from are:

I don't really recommend buying expensive cutlery, crockery, toilet brushes/bins etc as you won't be taking them home after the first year or you'll lose them, drop them, smash them, they'll get stolen you get the point!
I went to university with a full 16 piece cutlery set. After my first year, I came home with 1 knife, 2 forks, 2 spoons and 3 teaspoons (LOL)

I hope this helps you guys out! It's always better to be prepared.
